Traditional Respite Services
Star Developmental Services (SDS) traditional respite service is designed to provide caregivers the opportunity for a temporary rest from their caregiving duties. Respite services provide loved ones a short-term break from caregiving to help relieve stress, renew their energy, while also helping to restore a sense of balance to their lives.
Behavior Respite
Star Developmental Services (SDS) behavior respite service is designed to provide caregivers the opportunity for a temporary rest from their caregiving duties. Behavior Respite Service will be provided to a wide range of clients who have maladaptive behaviors that interfere with their daily living skills. These behaviors may include but are not limited to task avoidance, attention seeking, refusal, tantrum, property destruction, aggression towards others and self injurious behavior. (Regional center clients will need prior approval for behavioral respite services)
Supportive Living
Star Developmental Services Supported Living Services (SLS) supports individuals with intellectual disabilities in their desire to live on their own and be an active part of their local community. Our goal is to provide the best care possible for individuals with intellectual disabilities by matching them with the right individuals who are trained to reinforce independence, self esteem, social interaction and decision making. Helping to foster an atmosphere for our clients that will help create an environment that is safe, healthy, and happy while encouraging purpose and dignity. Coordinating quality and safe housing typical of others in the community without disabilities, keeping individuals informed of community events, programs, and other activities for their enrichment.
SDS, Inc. will help enhance the consumers ability to make life decisions based on personal preference by being positive, showing respect, talking and empowering the individual. Allowing each unique individual the opportunity to express themselves and embrace their uniqueness while discovering and reinforcing their own identity. Empowering the individual to be confident in his/her decision making process. Constantly supporting the consumer in maintaining self esteem, confidence, independence, and self help skills in the home and in the community.
